By road
Drive south to Delhi, then take the Yamuna Expressway to the Mathura or Vrindavan exit. Crossing Delhi is the slow part.
By train
Most travellers take a train to New Delhi and continue to Mathura Junction; a few trains run through.
Check current trains and fares on IRCTC or NTES before booking; schedules change.
By air
Road and rail via Delhi are simpler.
Mathura to Vrindavan
Whichever way you come, the last stretch is the same. Mathura Junction to Vrindavan is about 15 km, usually 30 to 45 minutes by auto, e-rickshaw or taxi depending on traffic. Agree the fare before you sit. Inside Vrindavan the lanes are narrow and jam easily, so walk or take an e-rickshaw rather than drive to the door.
Before you go
Plan to cross Delhi outside peak hours, or take a train that runs straight through.
